Congratulations to DTS Speed and Strength trained Oviedo High School freshman Quarterback Alton Meeks (far right) who has won the most outstanding QB award at the National Underclassman Combine today.

By the way, the coaches at this combine ask Alton to run the Pro Shuttle 6x's because they couldn't believe how fast the time was!

2 DTS Speed and Strength trained baseball players are All-Central Florida

Congrats to DTS Speed and strength trained baseball players Dante Bichette Jr. and Jay Gonzalez on being named to the All-Central Florida baseball defensive team.

Dante Bichette

Orangewood Christian

Strengths: Lauded by his coach as having "pro" defensive tools, Bichette possesses a monster arm and a soft glove.

Highlight reel: Bichette made a diving snag and an on-the-money throw to preserve a win against Tennessee David Lipscomb this year.

Quote: "He really anchors the corner. The kid does a tremendous job of fielding groundballs and making big plays, which he makes with his glove and his arm." — Alan Kunkel, Orangewood Christian coach

Center field

Jay Gonzalez

Freedom

Strengths: The Auburn commit has top-flight speed and the ability to track down almost any ball. He has a pretty good arm, too.

Highlight reel: Gonzalez powered a 2-1 win over Stuart Martin County, throwing out the potential tying run at home plate with two outs in the last inning.
Quote: "Defense plays a huge role for us. If you have a strong defense, then you can win every game. It all starts with having a zero on the board." — Gonzalez

DTS Speed and Strength athlete is an All American

Congratulations to Lee Wildes who has become a Brute Folkstyle All-American and recently winning the Greco Apple Valley championship.

Lee also has one of the nicest shirts I have ever seen ;)

DTS Speed and Strength- November Athlete of the month

November 2009

DTS Speed and Strength's - athlete of the month is High School freshman Tommy Anderson of Oviedo High School.

Tommy Anderson has been a great example of what DTS Speed and Strength can do for any athlete. Tommy came to us in the beginning of the summer of 2009 after seeing what his older brother Lars Anderson Jr, TE of Boston College, did after training with us. Tommy's main goals were to get stronger, faster, bigger and more agile.

Through our unique training methods Tommy shaved 5 tenths off his
40 yard dash going from a 5.4 forty yard dash to a 4.9 forty yard dash while gaining 25lbs. of lean muscle. It hasn't stopped there. Tommy like his brother, knew if he wanted to keep everything he gained he would have to train in our in-season program and it paid off big time. Check out the video of Tommy jumping on a 50" plyo box during the football season! When Tommy started training with us he could only jump on a 34" box.

Just another example of how
DTS Speed and Strength produces results.

DTS Speed and Strength training D-1 Athletes

Many people ask us, what's the difference between DTS Speed and Strength and an another facility? Well, one reason is no other facility in Central Florida trains more D-1 athletes than DTS Speed and Strength. And if athlete's at that caliber trust and know our training works why would someone continue to train at a subpar level? If your looking to reach your goals and want serious results, DTS Speed and Strength is the only facility that will deliver in record time. Here are just some schools that athletes are from that are currently training with DTS Speed and Strength over the summer break:

Albany University
Auburn University
Bethune-Cookman
Boston College
University of Central Florida
University of Southern Florida
Florida International University
Florida Atlantic University
Maryland University
The United States Naval Academy

Neamen Wise dominates states

Congratulations to Lake Brantley's Neamen Wise who won two golds in track and field in the 4A state track meet in the long jump and 300 hurdles.

Another DTS trained lacrosse player goes off to the Collegiate level

Congratulations to DTS trained lacrosse player, Jonathan Horbert will be playing lacrosse at the collegiate level at Susquehanna University. Jonathan is one of the 4 lacrosse players we train who will be going to play at the collegiate level next year. Jonathan has also been named to the All-Central Florida lacrosse team.

Below you will see Jonathan performing an overhead medicine ball throw to develop power for more of an explosive shot. Explosive work such as a medicine ball throw or box jump accompanied by maximal weight training will help an athlete become faster and stronger, this is key to becoming a better athlete.

DTS trained Lacrosse player named All-American

Congratulations to Lake Highland Prep and future Washington and Lee University lacrosse player for becoming an Academic All American along with being named to Central Florida's All Lacrosse team.

DTS trained NFL pro day football player has the highest vertical jump

Southeast Missouri State running back Timmy Holloman Jr. has produced the highest vertical jump out of all NFL pro day participates! Not only is that impressive but he has the highest vertical jump out of all running backs whether they were pro day participates or combine invited. If Timmy was to participate at the NFL combine he would have been tied for second with highest vertical jump!

Here's a little recap on Timmy's training in 6 weeks:

Before DTS:

Body weight: 183lbs.

Vertical Jump - 37"

Broad Jump - 10'

40 yard dash - 4.7 seconds

Pro Shuttle - 4.3 seconds

L-Drill - 7.32

225lb. Bench Press - 3 reps

After DTS:

Body weight: 197lbs.

Vertical Jump: 42.5"

Broad Jump: 11' but he scratched so had to jump again.
10'5"

40 yard dash: 4.46 seconds - This time is also in the top three of all combine and pro day participates for running backs

Pro Agility: 4.1 seconds

L-Drill: 6.9 seconds

225 Bench Press: 10 times

How scary would these times have been if he had more than 6 weeks?

Here's a couple of other videos of Timmy training:

550lb. Deadlift with overhand grip

60" Box Jump

This stuff is sure to pack on lean muscle and it will be available to the public very soon. Checkout Cytosport's new website at www.Cytosport.com

DTS athlete's on the rise

Taken from ESPNU College Football Nation: Wake Forest running back Kevin Harris -- In just the third start of his career and his first since October 2006, Harris turned in one of the most memorable performances of the inaugural EagleBank Bowl. Harris rushed for a career-high 24 carries and 136 yards. It came as a complete surprise and sparked the start of much-needed improvement in the Deacs' running game. His senior season could be his best. Check out Kevin below running over a Midshipman during Wake Forest's bowl game.

Taken from Laxpower.com: Jesse Bernhardt, Lake Brantley, FL (Maryland) The junior All-American led his team to a state title game appearance in '08. Bernhardt headed Lake Brantley with 155 groundballs and added five goals and five assists. Bernhardt is a natural athlete and also plays linebacker on the football team and was the leading tackler. He uses his strength to his advantage and intimidates opposing attackmen. Expect offenses to shy away from Bernhardt, who might be the best defensemen ever to come out of the Sunshine state.

NFL hopefuls and other athlete news

Future NFL hopefuls are working hard at DTS. Long days and hard work are already paying off in one week. We had a linebacker take 3 tenths off his pro shuttle going from a 4.6 to a 4.3 and a running back going from a 4.3 to a 4.0. This running back also ran a consistent 1.5 second 10 yard dash along with hitting a 1.47 second 10 yard dash twice! The great thing is they still have 4 more weeks!! Check out this 58" Box Jump below during one of their training sessions!

Zach M. has been the 5th DTS trained athlete to box jump 56" this is an amazing feat of explosiveness and I'm not sure of any other sports training facility in the nation who has recorded these results on tape. Not to mention 3 out of the 5 kids are high school kids! Check out Zach and the other athletes below who are jumping onto a 56" or higher box:

Lacrosse season is about to kickoff and DTS trained athlete and former high school All American Jake Bernhardt is working hard and will be on the second line midfield for the University of Maryland. Look for Jesse Bernhardt to make a big impact this year as well for Lake Brantley. Jesse will join his brother at Maryland for lacrosse as well.

Congratulations to Alton Meeks and Misha Steen who placed first in their weight classes for wrestling. Alton wrestled at the Tulsa Nationals along with Misha who won the Northeast Championship Nationals.

DTS Speed

DTS would like to congratulate Alex Carter on lowering his 60 yard dash time by 7 tenths going from a 8.3 second 60 yard dash to a 7.6 second 60 yard dash in seven and a half weeks. This is almost a tenth taken off per week. Alex has worked hard on lowering his times and we are hoping to see him in the 6.9's even with baseball season approaching. Only Alex will understand the video below so don't even try to figure it out.

Happy New Year

DTS would like to wish everyone a happy New Year!
